Redefine Your Physics Curriculum with Motion Visualizer 3D from Alberti's Window!

With Motion Visualizer 3D, if you can see a motion, you can investigate it. This breakthrough learning tool represents the next generation of MBL as it enables the real-time capture and display of the motion in space of an object or point on a 3D plot using ordinary video cameras.

With these capabilities, classical studies of pendula, projectiles, and rotations for instance, are tangible and clear because the whole motion is captured and maintained in a "spatial picture" together with all kinematics variables. The 3D capabilities provide an instinctive environment for developing the understanding of vectors. Moreover, Motion Visualizer 3D allows a whole new range of phenomena to be quickly and easily investigated. These phenomena include motions that students find most interesting such as sports, gymnastics, and juggling.

In our AAPT workshop, we will demonstrate how Motion Visualizer 3D can deepen and broaden your high school or college introductory physics curriculum drawing first on standard motions and then on examples from sports and physiology. Participants will get hands-on experience with all aspects of the system including setup, data recording, and analysis. We will also discuss using Motion Visualizer 3D for demonstrations and student investigations.
